Our little Emma Veda 3 months old

Having Emma far from our families has been harder than I expected. Sometimes I feel like both Emma and her extended family are missing out on too many things. This post is my attempt to bridge the cap a little bit.

Emma really is one of the best babies a parent could ask for. She has slept from 8pm to 7am since she was a month and a half old. She rarely cries hard , mostly she just yells streams of gibberish. She is great at mimicking and says "hi" and "yeah". She will sometimes even say it without having it said to her first, and although she has no idea what she is saying it is still SO SO cute!  Just the last few days she has figured out that she can, what we call "happy yell". It is cute but GOODNESS can it be loud! and the louder she is the more she giggles...I think she really likes it.

She really loves to chew on her tiny little fits.  Sometimes when we are all in the car Cody and I will start laughing in the middle of a conversation because we can hear her in the back munchin very loudly on her hand. It is one of our favorite things.

She has been flipping over more and more and she is getting very close to being able to sit up by herself .

Anyone who has held her for more than a couple of minutes knows how much she loves to stand. Sometimes when we go to sit her down she will stick her legs straight out and get all stiff so that you have to let her stand.

She is not the biggest cuddle bug and most of the time WANTS to be on the floor where she can kick, kick, and kick some more. Once she starts crawling I'm pretty sure i will be very busy trying to keep her out of things.

For the last couple of weeks she has been in love with her blanket. It is what she always wants to be playing with.  I think that it is great! Most of the time when she is fussy all i have to do is give her her blanket. She will rub it all over her face yelling and giggling. She'll pull it up to her mouth and gnaw on it until it is all kinds of wet. The very best part of her loving her blanket is that at night she buries her tiny little face in it and hugs it while she sleeps ! IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!

This little girl has had a smile on her face since the minute she was born. you can ask anyone in the
family and they will tell you that it's true and that the smiles were real genuine smiles NOT JUST GAS!!! Seriously!  She just has a very happy and content little spirit.

She is very sensitive to peoples moods, especially my mood.  There have been a couple of times when I have been frustrated or bothered by something, and although she is normally very happy and loud , she became very quiet and  watched me VERY closely. Not like she was scared but like she was concerned. Anyone who was at her blessing won't be surprised by this. Her blessing said that she
would be able to discern the feeling of others , especially her loved ones so that she would know how to better care for them. I was surprised to find that this particular gift has been since birth. I thought that would come later in life. I was VERY wrong.

She is such a cute little nut and Cody and I feel so blessed to have her as our daughter.

Crazy missed him!

Up until the the week before Halloween Cody and I had only ever spent a total of five days away from each other. I thought that I could handle at least one whole week away from him but oh my gosh I was SO wrong!

I was missing my sisters and really wanted to see them, and mom too but she was in Idaho, and Cody really wanted to be in St. George for Halloween. I didn't think that the little time we had Halloween weekend would be worth the three and a half hour drive and the hassle of dragging Emma all around causing her to be sleep deprived and fussy, so we struck a deal. Cody would drop me off on the 25th and would come back to get me on the 30th.

I really enjoyed my time in St. George but I never realized how much I rely on Cody. We were texting and calling each other a lot but we were hardly ever available at the same time during the day which left us Skyping or talking on the phone at like one in the morning and it was ALWAYS hard to say goodnight. I never wanted to hang up the phone or turn off the computer!  The week was so exhausting without him!

I always used to make fun of women who would talk like this and now I am one of them! Oh well. I love my Husband and I'm not ashamed that I actually LIKE spending time with him. I don't care if people think that it makes me look like a sissy. I am who I am, and I am happiest when he is with me.

It was great getting to see our families interact with Emma. Aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents, it was all just so wonderful. I especially loved seeing little Cove and Emma together. Cove was cute, he would try to get to Emma no matter where she was and as soon as he thought he was close enough would grab for her.  We had  to watch him very close! It was fun though because they would smile at each other and get all excited. So cute!

Halloween was awesome.  My nieces and nephews are so old now! It really made this year fun. They were all excited about their costumes and had all these plans about what they wanted to do and places they wanted to go. It was great getting to watch them be all excited.
We dressed Emma as a Troll Doll. I wanted her hair to be purple but I couldn't find the hair stuff I wanted to use in it but we still styled it. Cori and Sheena did her hair.
I love all of her chubs! I think it helps sell the whole troll bit. You can't really tell in this picture but she has a jewel over her belly button and one on each ear. AND her whole tummy is covered in spit! She kept trying to eat the ribbon.

She really liked touching the pumpkin so she didn't want to look up at us. When we moved the pumpkin up a stair she suddenly remembered how much she loved her tutu and she still wouldn't look up!

Little Cove as an elephant. So cute!
