The Man I Love

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CODY!
Cody's birthday was Tuesday March 22nd and we had a lot of fun celebrating it. He ended up having to go to work at 5 that morning so as a surprise I woke up at 3:30 (not that I got a whole lot of sleep I was so excited) and started making him one of his favorite breakfasts, Belgian waffles with eggs, bacon and sausage.

It was a lot of fun being all sneaky about it. I even went to the store late-ish the night before and bought all the stuff and hid it so he wouldn't know  what I was planning. Before I went to bed that night I hung the birthday sign and made sure the apartment looked perfect for when he first walked out to see everything.

It all came together nicely... at least I think so. He didn't even  hear me get up to start all the cooking. It was great to see how happy and excited it made him when he saw what was going on. I love making birthdays a big deal because I think that they are.

After he got home the plan was to go out and do something and then go to Costco to buy his birthday cheesecake but the soar throat I had woken up with had only gotten worse and by the time he was off work I had a pretty good fever going so instead he made me take a nap.  I felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOOOO BAD!!!  The night turned out pretty fun though. We did go to Costco to get his cheese cake and ended up buying a pizza and inviting his little sister Aubrey and her husband Joseph over for dinner and the Avatar Rifftrax  (SUPER FUNNY!) .    Cody said he really enjoyed his day and I'm glad that he did.
A little bit about MY Cody:
He is an AMAZING , lighthearted , patient and loving husband who takes the best care of me. He is super respectful of me and is slow to anger and really knows how to communicate. He really is the sweetest Man!

He loves and gets along great with everyone in my family even the little ones.

He LOVES air planes and is almost 75% done with is degrees in the aviation program at UVU. He is good at EVERYTHING He tries and is passionate about it . So of course all of his flight instructors have really loved working with him because he is so dedicated and good at flying.

Is the best Daddy and is totally wrapped around his little baby girls finger. They are the best of buds : )

He has a deep love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and it shows. He respects his priesthood and leads our family with loving care. I'm so glad that we have his strong influence in our home.

Again... The Best little dad EVER!

He super fun and crazy in a good way ! Seriously, he constantly has me and SO many others laughing. He can make me happy so fast it is ridiculous!

We call him Ninja. It's a lot of fun to play volley ball and other games with him because he gets so into it. Not in an annoying competitive way but in an "I'm here to have fun way" and I LOVE IT!!

He has deep love and concern for every member of his family and wants only the very best things for them. He respects and honors his parents and how they raised him.

Dearest Cody,
I hope that this doesn't embarrass you too much. I just wanted to share some of the many reasons why I love you.  I'm so glad that you are mine!!!

P.S.
I totally have the biggest crush on you.

Funnest Present EVER!

For Christmas Cody gave me a Snowboarding trip! We decided that we would go January 21st to Brianhead instead of going somewhere a little closer to home so that we could borrow all of the gear we needed and so we had someone to watch Emma for us.

We started the day by dropping Emma off at my sister Natalie's house.  It was a weird feeling leaving her knowing that we wouldn't be seeing her ALL day and going so far from her but it was also a much needed break. Nati ended up taking her over to Cori's and hanging out with the "Sisterhood". Cody and I had pretty much expected this so when we returned later that day to pick her up and found her bathed, cradle cap scrubbed and in clothes that we did not recognize, we were not at all surprised. This is just how our sisterhood works... which is really nice because I had neglected my poor daughters head and was having a hard time getting rid of the blasted cradle cap but they did the work for me! AWESOME!!! Can't imagine not having all my sisters!

Anyway back to the trip. We got a good deal on our lift tickets because half of the lifts were closed which we were not bummed about at all since we didn't want to use any of those slopes anyway.

Cody had been planning this for awhile and was looking forward to hitting the slopes after such a long time .I was really excited to go too but I would be snowboarding for the first time and was also feeling really scared and when I am scared I can be a little mean.... ok a lot mean. Lucky for me I have an amazing husband who knows me very well and was not surprised by my reaction or even really phased by it. Mostly he just chuckled or smiled at me while I grumbled under my breath or was chewing him out for something that he didn't even do and this was before I had even successfully stood up on my board!

Once we got to the top of the bunny hill and I had learned a better way to stand up strapped to a board I calmed down a bit and by the time I got the bottom of the bunny hill ( it took a LONG time) I was having a lot of fun!  I will say though that snowboarding is PAINFUL!!!! I fell..... A LOT!  Even Cody fell some but we also laughed a lot and made some really good memories.

This is how I ended up snowboarding most of the day. My legs were to tired to stand all the way and control the board so I stayed down like this so I could better control the board direction with my hands. I know... I am such a nerd!!! but you know what? I couldn't have cared LESS!!! I was having SO much fun!

I thought we were being silly...

Cody waiting for me on one of my many breaks

Yet another break! Haha

Yep! This is how the day ended... me walking! I took another BIG fall and thought "We have been here for almost five hours I'm ready to go home".   SO much faster to walk! Yes I know that sounds backwards but when You are having to take a break every 30 or so feet it takes a long time to get down the hill.Cody was already at the bottom. The poor mans feet started to really hurt form wearing small boots so I told him to go on without me.

And here I thought we were being normal! We couldn't quite get it right.

Happy New Year!!!

Cody and I had a really fun New Years night . Don't ask what we did because honestly I don't really remember much of anything except we bought those party poppers so we could pull them at midnight. I remember laughing a lot too, but again I don't really remember why. I do know that there is NO better way to start out a new year then with my best friend . I love you Cody ! Thanks for all the laughs.... and the perfect pictures ; )

YEP! We are best buddies!
We are OLD! It was hard to stay Awake

We really loved the popper things

Chirstmas Eve & Christmas Day 2010

Christmas Eve with my family has always been something that I have looked forward to. We always have a BIG breakfast feast for dinner and then we sing songs and tell stories and all that good stuff.

This year Cody had to work Christmas Eve day until 2:30 pm which we were bugged by because we have to drive three and a half hours to St.George and we would most likely miss dinner, it wasn't that bad though. We managed to get to Mom and Dad's house just as they were cleaning up dinner and getting ready for the singing and stuff. We were actually REALLY surprised that  we even made it in time for that since from the time we left Provo until about ten minutes outside of St. George we drove in fog . THICK FOG!! I am already a nerves person in cars and that didn't help AT ALL!

Once we got there Emma decided to freak out . It was the hardest and the longest she has EVER screamed .  It was awful! She hadn't been feeling all that good and then we got to the house with the BIG crowd all excited to see her and she just flipped!

It was my brother Brandon that first set her off ( SO not his fault). She went through a funny stage where she really didn't like people with glasses , facial hair or hats and at the time Brandon had a very long goatee. Even after we calmed her down she would start bawling if Brandon tried talking to her and it was that way all night until everyone left. That night she ended up sleeping with me because she wouldn't stop crying in her own bed and just before we turned out the lights I told Cody " If we wake up tomorrow and she is like this I don't care if it is Christmas WE ARE GONG HOME!" .Needless to say I didn't get a whole lot of sleep but sleep sure did work wonders on Emma who woke up a normal happy little girl Christmas morning.

Christmas day was MUCH better! We opened gifts, ate yummy hot rolls and just chilled until we had opened cousin gifts and then we went to Cody's  mom's house.

We had lots of fun there opening  gifts with them and  hanging out laughing and eating lots more delicious food and trying to get Traci to have her baby before we went back home the next day!

We felt very grateful and very spoiled by all the gifts we got from his family. We also felt a little bad because we had to keep things super simple with our gifts this year.

I got a SEWING MACHINE from Cody's mom. and I have REALLY LOVED IT!!!

Emma  really loves Cove. They were pretty funny during our Christmas eve stuff.
I just loved her in her Christmas jammies and pig slippers!

Grandpa helped Emma open all her gifts. It was pretty cute to watch her get all excited about stuff and of course Grandpa loved helping he was all about this little girl Christmas morning

Cody and his stocking  and all of  the goodies from it

Mom and Dad were pretty funny. Dad forgot to get  Mom's gifts out of the safe before we put Emma down  she ended up just taking them out of the bag. We has a pretty good laugh about that one.
Emma laying with all her presents

The one and ONLY picture of me from this Christmas. Oh the joys of being the mom!

In the end Brandon won Emma back by shaving his goatee and letting her munch on a candy cane! She was a very sticky pepperminty mess

Well those are the pictures that we took. Wish we had some more but I was very tired (thank you Emma) and forgot the camera for most of Christmas day.
