Our little Emma Veda 3 months old

Having Emma far from our families has been harder than I expected. Sometimes I feel like both Emma and her extended family are missing out on too many things. This post is my attempt to bridge the cap a little bit.

Emma really is one of the best babies a parent could ask for. She has slept from 8pm to 7am since she was a month and a half old. She rarely cries hard , mostly she just yells streams of gibberish. She is great at mimicking and says "hi" and "yeah". She will sometimes even say it without having it said to her first, and although she has no idea what she is saying it is still SO SO cute!  Just the last few days she has figured out that she can, what we call "happy yell". It is cute but GOODNESS can it be loud! and the louder she is the more she giggles...I think she really likes it.

She really loves to chew on her tiny little fits.  Sometimes when we are all in the car Cody and I will start laughing in the middle of a conversation because we can hear her in the back munchin very loudly on her hand. It is one of our favorite things.

She has been flipping over more and more and she is getting very close to being able to sit up by herself .

Anyone who has held her for more than a couple of minutes knows how much she loves to stand. Sometimes when we go to sit her down she will stick her legs straight out and get all stiff so that you have to let her stand.

She is not the biggest cuddle bug and most of the time WANTS to be on the floor where she can kick, kick, and kick some more. Once she starts crawling I'm pretty sure i will be very busy trying to keep her out of things.

For the last couple of weeks she has been in love with her blanket. It is what she always wants to be playing with.  I think that it is great! Most of the time when she is fussy all i have to do is give her her blanket. She will rub it all over her face yelling and giggling. She'll pull it up to her mouth and gnaw on it until it is all kinds of wet. The very best part of her loving her blanket is that at night she buries her tiny little face in it and hugs it while she sleeps ! IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!

This little girl has had a smile on her face since the minute she was born. you can ask anyone in the
family and they will tell you that it's true and that the smiles were real genuine smiles NOT JUST GAS!!! Seriously!  She just has a very happy and content little spirit.

She is very sensitive to peoples moods, especially my mood.  There have been a couple of times when I have been frustrated or bothered by something, and although she is normally very happy and loud , she became very quiet and  watched me VERY closely. Not like she was scared but like she was concerned. Anyone who was at her blessing won't be surprised by this. Her blessing said that she
would be able to discern the feeling of others , especially her loved ones so that she would know how to better care for them. I was surprised to find that this particular gift has been since birth. I thought that would come later in life. I was VERY wrong.

She is such a cute little nut and Cody and I feel so blessed to have her as our daughter.

  2. She still has her cute dark hair. I am jealous of sleeping through the night. Apparently Brecken feels that he needs to wake up several times to eat to maintain is chubbiness. This boy is a giant. Gunnar was much like Emma. Super happy and content. Not much of a cuddler. Happier on his own. Nice to have a first child like that.

  3. I miss her. She is so sweet. I love how she yells. That's cool that she is already using her "Jasper" gift. She is so cool. I can't believe how different she already looks just since halloween. She is just getting prettier. I am glad you are blogging so we don't have to miss out on all of her cute stuff. It is so sad you live far and our babies can't see each other more. Love you.
