Let the good times rock and role!

We had to take a quick trip to St. George the weekend of the 11th so we could figure out what to do with our phone. We had a lot of fun we got to see our good friends Tamron and Chrissy's new baby Suzy and spend some time with them. It's always nice to see the Lee family and eat all their food. There is nothing Cody loves more than free food!

We also spent some time with Natalie and her husband Arron and Katy and her husband Curtis.  We had a blast playing on Katy and Curtis's new X box Connect.
We played this game where you have to follow the dance steps of the person on the screen and if you do a step wrong or don't have arms right then you lose points. There is also a free style point in the song where you can do whatever and it records you and plays it back .... Pretty DANG funny. We danced to " Poker Face" and had a good laugh.
Here are some pics. ( Nat danced too but she would probably kill me if I posted them so I won't)

Curtis dancing. Cody tackled him trying to ruin his score just after I took this picture. The best part was when Cody tackled him he accidentally pulled his pants down. It was really funny and we were laughing about it pretty hard.
Thanks Katy and Curtis for the good memories!

AThanksginving all our own

This year was mine and Cody's very first Thanksgiving alone and we had a blast!

Cody had to work 5am - 11am and then he was ALL mine! While Cody was gone I made a table out of a plastic storage bin and the box our T.V. came in, and then covered it with our nicest table cloth.  He was suprised to see a table when he came home.

While I cooked the food we watched "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and  "A Christmas Carol". Some how while cooking I managed to keep the dishes done and kitchen clean which is weird because I can't even seem to do that on a normal day and I was making three times the mess! Go figure!

We really wished that we had someone to share all our food with . I made a HUGE turkey, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy (the potatoes were going bad so it turned out to be quite a lot), rolls, green bean casserole, and stuffing. And for just the two of us we had FOUR different pies. Two homemade chocolate silk (YUMMMY) one pumpkin, and one raspberry.

After we had eaten we played some games and just hung out. We loved this day!
Ha ha just realized I didn't even mention Emma but that might be because she slept through pretty much everything!
My very first turkey. Cody called it the Slut Turkey because I forgot to tie the legs together! Ha ha ha I was laughing pretty hard. I also forgot to take the giblets out  but it still tasted good : )
This is our pretty table. The pictures don't do it justice. It looked really very nice. Usually we don't have Christmas up until the day after Thanksgiving but the Monday before Cody had lots of free time so we did it for Family Home Evening. That was pretty fun too.

Our little Emma Veda 3 months old

Having Emma far from our families has been harder than I expected. Sometimes I feel like both Emma and her extended family are missing out on too many things. This post is my attempt to bridge the cap a little bit.

Emma really is one of the best babies a parent could ask for. She has slept from 8pm to 7am since she was a month and a half old. She rarely cries hard , mostly she just yells streams of gibberish. She is great at mimicking and says "hi" and "yeah". She will sometimes even say it without having it said to her first, and although she has no idea what she is saying it is still SO SO cute!  Just the last few days she has figured out that she can, what we call "happy yell". It is cute but GOODNESS can it be loud! and the louder she is the more she giggles...I think she really likes it.

She really loves to chew on her tiny little fits.  Sometimes when we are all in the car Cody and I will start laughing in the middle of a conversation because we can hear her in the back munchin very loudly on her hand. It is one of our favorite things.

She has been flipping over more and more and she is getting very close to being able to sit up by herself .

Anyone who has held her for more than a couple of minutes knows how much she loves to stand. Sometimes when we go to sit her down she will stick her legs straight out and get all stiff so that you have to let her stand.

She is not the biggest cuddle bug and most of the time WANTS to be on the floor where she can kick, kick, and kick some more. Once she starts crawling I'm pretty sure i will be very busy trying to keep her out of things.

For the last couple of weeks she has been in love with her blanket. It is what she always wants to be playing with.  I think that it is great! Most of the time when she is fussy all i have to do is give her her blanket. She will rub it all over her face yelling and giggling. She'll pull it up to her mouth and gnaw on it until it is all kinds of wet. The very best part of her loving her blanket is that at night she buries her tiny little face in it and hugs it while she sleeps ! IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!

This little girl has had a smile on her face since the minute she was born. you can ask anyone in the
family and they will tell you that it's true and that the smiles were real genuine smiles NOT JUST GAS!!! Seriously!  She just has a very happy and content little spirit.

She is very sensitive to peoples moods, especially my mood.  There have been a couple of times when I have been frustrated or bothered by something, and although she is normally very happy and loud , she became very quiet and  watched me VERY closely. Not like she was scared but like she was concerned. Anyone who was at her blessing won't be surprised by this. Her blessing said that she
would be able to discern the feeling of others , especially her loved ones so that she would know how to better care for them. I was surprised to find that this particular gift has been since birth. I thought that would come later in life. I was VERY wrong.

She is such a cute little nut and Cody and I feel so blessed to have her as our daughter.

Crazy missed him!

Up until the the week before Halloween Cody and I had only ever spent a total of five days away from each other. I thought that I could handle at least one whole week away from him but oh my gosh I was SO wrong!

I was missing my sisters and really wanted to see them, and mom too but she was in Idaho, and Cody really wanted to be in St. George for Halloween. I didn't think that the little time we had Halloween weekend would be worth the three and a half hour drive and the hassle of dragging Emma all around causing her to be sleep deprived and fussy, so we struck a deal. Cody would drop me off on the 25th and would come back to get me on the 30th.

I really enjoyed my time in St. George but I never realized how much I rely on Cody. We were texting and calling each other a lot but we were hardly ever available at the same time during the day which left us Skyping or talking on the phone at like one in the morning and it was ALWAYS hard to say goodnight. I never wanted to hang up the phone or turn off the computer!  The week was so exhausting without him!

I always used to make fun of women who would talk like this and now I am one of them! Oh well. I love my Husband and I'm not ashamed that I actually LIKE spending time with him. I don't care if people think that it makes me look like a sissy. I am who I am, and I am happiest when he is with me.

It was great getting to see our families interact with Emma. Aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents, it was all just so wonderful. I especially loved seeing little Cove and Emma together. Cove was cute, he would try to get to Emma no matter where she was and as soon as he thought he was close enough would grab for her.  We had  to watch him very close! It was fun though because they would smile at each other and get all excited. So cute!

Halloween was awesome.  My nieces and nephews are so old now! It really made this year fun. They were all excited about their costumes and had all these plans about what they wanted to do and places they wanted to go. It was great getting to watch them be all excited.
We dressed Emma as a Troll Doll. I wanted her hair to be purple but I couldn't find the hair stuff I wanted to use in it but we still styled it. Cori and Sheena did her hair.
I love all of her chubs! I think it helps sell the whole troll bit. You can't really tell in this picture but she has a jewel over her belly button and one on each ear. AND her whole tummy is covered in spit! She kept trying to eat the ribbon.

She really liked touching the pumpkin so she didn't want to look up at us. When we moved the pumpkin up a stair she suddenly remembered how much she loved her tutu and she still wouldn't look up!

Little Cove as an elephant. So cute!

One year, one baby and three homes later....

I'M 24!  A year seems to go by so fast that it doesn't seem possible that so much could happen. Since my last b-day we have moved out of Katy and Curtis's house in with Mom and Dad, Cody got a job at Dixie College, Then quit when hired at Walmart as the "Meat Man", I quit my job after two years of being a receptionist( Awesome!!!!),Cody got his Associates, then Emma was born an three weeks later we moved to Provo.  It might not seem like a lot to most of you but to us these are some pretty big moments.

My birthday was a lot of fun this year! Cody completely spoiled me!

He bought flowers. Aren't they pretty!!  I love the way they look kinda like fire. I think they are quite striking!

He got me a very pretty cake. It was so cute when we lit all the candles Emma was smiling soooooo big and was getting all kinds of excited. Cody tried to snap a picture of her cute little face but It didn't turn out. You can see why she would be so happy though it looks really cool all lit up.

For my birthday dinner he took me to Red Lobster so that I could eat the coconut shrimp that I had been craving for weeks and IT WAS AMAZING!

When we returned home from dinner we took lots of fun and silly pictures .

Even though I was far from all of my bestest friends(my sisters) for pretty much the first time in my life ( it was a little hard and I really missed them), my birthday was super fantastic!
This was my first birthday as a mommy & what a sweet husband I have! He really made this year very memorable .  Thank you Darling for all of the WONDERFUL
memories!

The picture above is my favorite! see how Emma looks like
she is pleading for help. The poor girl does
have crazy parents...CRAZY AWESOME!!!

 HAPPY
BIRTHDAY!

Life in Provo

Cody and I are really enjoying being in Provo. We miss our friends and family in St. George but we really like having our own place and our own routine.

Emma is growing and learning quickly. Yesterday she picked up on how to make cooing sounds on purpose and has hardly stopped since. Also I am proud to announce that she has been sleeping for seven hours at night which at 5 weeks is AMAZING!!

Cody is busy with work and school but has really been enjoying it all.
Right now he is working on his Bachelors of Science Aviation Administration... Translation he is going to be a pilot who could potentially run an airport. Exciting!!!

I stay pretty busy organizing, cleaning and trying to make the apartment look like a home.

On Thursday we went on our very first little family outing to Bridal Veil Falls. it was beautiful and we had a lot of fun just taking pictures and walking along the river, which was actually clear and had plenty of water, Unlike the Virgin.

The Lord truly has blessed us in moving up here. There is no way we could have made any of this happen without his endless love and support.

Life with Spiders

Life for me in the last two years or so has moved very fast. I went from being on my mission to being married to being a mom and moving far (for me) from my family. I saw all of this coming and have welcomed it with open arms, all of it that is except for living with spiders!

Cody and I Just moved into a basement apartment in Provo and there are plenty of bugs! At first it didn't bother me but then they started messing with me. The first time I came face to face with a spider i was in the shower! I felt like crying every time i had to close my eyes to wash some kind of soap out of my hair or off my face I was terrified that it would somehow get me while my eyes were closed and then it happened, I closed my eyes and it disappeared. I was so creeped out I finished my shower in record time. Later that night while on the TOILET of all places it reappeared. This time however I decided that I was going to do something I hadn't done in years....I was going to kill a spider. Feeling a rush of bravery I removed my shoe and with all the force I could muster I whacked the spider, it then flew off of the the shower curtain landed safely on the ground and crawled away. How that it lived is beyond me.

The next day however I found another spider and thought " This is the time to redeem myself. I WILL KILL THIS SPIDER!" Removing my shoe I bent down and whacked the crap out of the stupid thing..... It to crawled away. The day after that while standing in the kitchen feeding the baby a spider the size of a quarter CHASED ME onto the couch! After that I decided that I was done dealing with spiders so that night when cooking dinner and another spider appeared I asked my sweet husband,(who was laying on the couch) " Sweetie,I'm cooking dinner and there is a really scary spider, will you kill it? His reply... " Kill it yourself." and then he rolled over. Upon his waking up he was confused to find me somewhat upset. He had no idea that I had asked him any thing or that he had responded.

Living here is already a crazy adventure and I'm sure it will only get crazier and crazier but it is our very own adventure and we are loving it!
