This year Cody had to work Christmas Eve day until 2:30 pm which we were bugged by because we have to drive three and a half hours to St.George and we would most likely miss dinner, it wasn't that bad though. We managed to get to Mom and Dad's house just as they were cleaning up dinner and getting ready for the singing and stuff. We were actually REALLY surprised that we even made it in time for that since from the time we left Provo until about ten minutes outside of St. George we drove in fog . THICK FOG!! I am already a nerves person in cars and that didn't help AT ALL!
Once we got there Emma decided to freak out . It was the hardest and the longest she has EVER screamed . It was awful! She hadn't been feeling all that good and then we got to the house with the BIG crowd all excited to see her and she just flipped!
It was my brother Brandon that first set her off ( SO not his fault). She went through a funny stage where she really didn't like people with glasses , facial hair or hats and at the time Brandon had a very long goatee. Even after we calmed her down she would start bawling if Brandon tried talking to her and it was that way all night until everyone left. That night she ended up sleeping with me because she wouldn't stop crying in her own bed and just before we turned out the lights I told Cody " If we wake up tomorrow and she is like this I don't care if it is Christmas WE ARE GONG HOME!" .Needless to say I didn't get a whole lot of sleep but sleep sure did work wonders on Emma who woke up a normal happy little girl Christmas morning.
Christmas day was MUCH better! We opened gifts, ate yummy hot rolls and just chilled until we had opened cousin gifts and then we went to Cody's mom's house.
We had lots of fun there opening gifts with them and hanging out laughing and eating lots more delicious food and trying to get Traci to have her baby before we went back home the next day!
We felt very grateful and very spoiled by all the gifts we got from his family. We also felt a little bad because we had to keep things super simple with our gifts this year.
I got a SEWING MACHINE from Cody's mom. and I have REALLY LOVED IT!!!
Emma really loves Cove. They were pretty funny during our Christmas eve stuff. |
I just loved her in her Christmas jammies and pig slippers! |
Grandpa helped Emma open all her gifts. It was pretty cute to watch her get all excited about stuff and of course Grandpa loved helping he was all about this little girl Christmas morning
Cody and his stocking and all of the goodies from it |
Mom and Dad were pretty funny. Dad forgot to get Mom's gifts out of the safe before we put Emma down she ended up just taking them out of the bag. We has a pretty good laugh about that one. |
Emma laying with all her presents |
The one and ONLY picture of me from this Christmas. Oh the joys of being the mom! |
In the end Brandon won Emma back by shaving his goatee and letting her munch on a candy cane! She was a very sticky pepperminty mess |
Well those are the pictures that we took. Wish we had some more but I was very tired (thank you Emma) and forgot the camera for most of Christmas day.
Ha!... nice Christmas Eve. At least she was in a good mood for Christmas.
